The Town of High River is a Cool Little Town, with a population of just under 13,000. An easy 30 minute drive south of the city of Calgary on Highway 2, this historical western town has a rich history of working with the Alberta film and television industry.
In 2012, High River was formally recognized as Home of the popular TV series Heartland©, that has been filming in the High River area since 2007. Other recent and notable productions that film in High River include: Fargo the TV series for the FX network, CityTV’s Young Drunk Punk and a unique web-based series called Haunting Melissa.
As a lifestyle community, High River’s progressive environment is enhanced by a thriving arts, culture and heritage scene and offers a full calendar of cultural events and festivals. The town also features hundreds of unique businesses including fashion boutiques, coffee shops, and restaurants.
